Waterproofing  Systems

Water ingress is one of the most destructive forces affecting modern structures. Left unchecked, moisture penetration causes irreversible damage to concrete, steel reinforcement, and interior finishes — leading to costly remediation and structural risk.

Our three core specialisms — balcony, deck, and podium waterproofing — represent the most technically demanding applications in the industry, each requiring tailored systems and specialist knowledge.

“The right membrane applied correctly is not a cost — it’s an investment.”

01 — Balcony Waterproofing

Protection From
the Ground Up

Balconies are among the most vulnerable elements of any building envelope. Exposed to standing water, UV radiation, thermal cycling, and foot traffic simultaneously, they demand a waterproofing system that performs across all conditions — year after year.

Our balcony waterproofing systems combine high-performance liquid-applied membranes, reinforced sheet systems, and integrated drainage detailing to create a fully bonded, monolithic barrier that protects both the slab and the structure below.

  • Liquid-applied polyurethane and polyurea membranes for seamless coverage
  • Full upstand waterproofing with mechanically fixed and bonded terminations
  • Balustrade and penetration detailing — the most common failure points
  • Trafficable surface systems including porcelain tile, pavers, and timber decking
  • Falls and drainage design to prevent ponding water accumulation
  • Remedial and new-build application capability

02 — Deck Waterproofing

Heavy-Duty Performance
for High-Traffic Surfaces

Decks — whether at ground level, elevated, or spanning occupied space — face relentless mechanical stress in addition to water exposure. A failed deck membrane doesn’t just let water in; it can compromise the structural integrity of the supporting assembly and any occupied space below.

We specify and install traffic-rated waterproofing systems engineered for sustained load, abrasion resistance, and long-term adhesion. From residential timber decks to commercial concrete podium decks, every installation is designed to the specific loading, drainage, and finish requirements of the project.

  • Traffic-rated membranes for vehicular and pedestrian loading scenarios
  • Cold-applied and hot-applied systems for maximum bond to substrate
  • Slip-resistant topcoats compliant with safety standards
  • Trafficable surface systems including porcelain tile, pavers, and timber decking
  • Timber deck integration — hidden fastener and clip systems with full flashing
  • Crack-bridging capability for concrete substrates prone to movement
  • UV-stable finishes with 10–15 year service life
Polyurethane Systems

Separate HEPA-filtered air handling per zone, positive/negative pressure rooms, exhaust systems compliant with ASHRAE 170 healthcare ventilation standards.

Modified Bitumen

Robust torch-on sheets for high-load areas and exposed roof decks.

EPDM Rubber

Outstanding elongation and UV resistance for exposed, uncovered decks.

GRP Fibreglass

Rigid, monolithic surface with excellent chemical resistance for technical decks.

03 — podium Waterproofing

Large-Scale Slab Waterproofing
with Zero Margin for Error

Podium slabs — the large elevated concrete platforms that form the base of commercial towers, mixed-use developments, and residential complexes — represent the most technically complex waterproofing challenge in construction. With occupied car parks, retail, or plant rooms beneath and landscaped areas, pools, or courtyards above, the consequences of membrane failure are severe and remediation is extraordinarily costly.
Our podium waterproofing approach is forensic in its detail, starting with a thorough structural assessment and working through a fully engineered, independently specified system with third-party quality assurance.

Landscaping / Paving Filter Layer Drainage Board Protection Screed Waterproof Membrane Primer Podium Concrete Slab Occupied Space Below (Car Park / Retail / Plant) PODIUM SLAB SYSTEM
podium Systems
Pre-Application Survey

Every podium project begins with a comprehensive structural survey including core sampling, moisture meter readings, pull-off adhesion tests on existing coatings, and drainage mapping. We never specify blind.

System Specification

We produce fully engineered system drawings, product data sheets, and method statements specific to each project. Systems are selected from market-leading manufacturers and independently tested to AS/NZS and ISO standards.

Application & Quality Assurance

All podium membrane applications are supervised by a certified waterproofing inspector. Electronic leak detection (ELD) is used on every project to verify 100% membrane integrity prior to overburden placement.

Overburden & Landscaping Integration

We coordinate with civil and landscape contractors to ensure drainage layers, root barriers, irrigation penetrations, and filter fabrics are correctly installed over the membrane — protecting the warranty and the system’s long-term performance.
